2026-2027 Summer Reading List

It is the student’s responsibility to obtain a copy of the assigned text. This work can be accessed through the public library or through local bookstores, which have been notified of these selections. If there are financial constraints that inhibit the purchase of a text, please contact the English Department Chair to discuss options for purchase at katherine.cates@cms.k12.nc.us. In the upper level classes, accountability for the reading will take place during the academic year in conjunction with individual teacher syllabi. The reading list can also be accessed through the MPHS website. Please note that some classes have additional directions posted via links.
